Once upon a time there was a nineteen-year-old guy named Jiří in Prague, who had decided to quit high school and didn’t really know what to do with his life. Then, he met an Estonian girl and promptly moved to Tartu, without speaking a word of Estonian or having any qualifications. And yet, through hard work and determination, he got a job, learned the language, and made a new life in the intellectual capital of Estonia. Jiří talks about his roots, how he managed to adapt to the Estonian way of life, and about his green-thinking and sustainability-focused worldviews. Want to know how to learn the Estonian language in under a year, join the community garden in Tartu, survive night shifts as a bartender or even get tips about dumpster diving? Check out Jiří’s story.
